LEIALI`INANI CLASSES
We offer a variety of classes for all ages & skill levels. Classes are offered in different locations: Los Alamitos @ Melodies Dance Studio, Cypress Community Center and Cypress Civic Center.
Enrollment for Liko Keiki Polynesian & Adult Recreational classes are processed through Buena Park & Cypress community centers. Please reference class schedule on their respective websites.
`ike Kumu is a Saturday morning outdoor class that is held at the Cypress Civic Center.
All other classes are held at our newest location in Los Alamitos at Melodies Dance Studio

KEIKI POLYNESIAN

Students will learn Hula & Tahitian choreography. This class focuses on basic footwork & hand motions, timing, integrating Hawaiian language, and preparation for performances (optional). Students should wear comfortable clothing.
Cypress location: Wednesday

NA WAHINE & MAKUA

Intermediate/Advanced Polynesian dance class for tweens and teens. Class will focus on basic footwork and hand motions, timing, integrating the Hawaiian language, and applying basics to Hula. This class will help you develop as a dancer, have a deeper understanding of Hula and have opportunities to learn lei making, implements, and costumes for shows.

This class is designed for the adult who has progressed from previous classes; they will learn advanced techniques and choreography, covering the full range of Polynesian dance arts, using implements and oli (Hawaiian chants)

`IKE KUMU
This class is a time for haumana (students) to gather, share, learn, and be inspired as hula practioners. This class aims to foster students to Hawaiian culture, traditions with hula.
Students will make & use ipu & ipu heke along with other traditional Hawaiian instruments. We will practice traditional oli and build a foundation for a deeper apprecation to hula.
